Samuel D. Zurier - Attorney

Samuel D. Zurier has maintained a general civil litigation practice in Rhode Island since 1990. During that time, he has handled cases in such areas as business law, real property law, personal injury law, environmental law, education law and probate law. He has tried cases in both state and federal courts in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, and has argued appeals in the Rhode Island Supreme Court, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and the First Circuit Court of Appeals.

Outside of his direct work for clients, Attorney Zurier has engaged in a number of projects within the legal profession, including service on the Superior Court Bench Bar committee and House of Delegates of the Rhode Island Bar Association, the Rhode Island Bar Foundation and as an adjunct professor of education law at Roger Williams University Law School. He also has written articles for the Rhode Island Bar Journal on such topics as the Rhode Island Ethics Commission, Rhode Island’s punitive damages law and the Affordable Care Act. His articles have received several prizes from the Bar Association, including the 2000 award for the best article written that year.

Attorney Zurier also participates in a number of community organizations, including the Jewish Family Service of Rhode Island and the Providence City Council, on which he still serves. The community has recognized his work with several awards, including the Merrill Hassenfeld Leadership Award and the Generation Citizen Civil Leader Award in 2014.
